Joomla templates for making attractive websites

Simply having a website is not enough; it needs to be updated regularly. If you have it and don’t have any provision for modifying and updating the content then the website serves a limited purpose. The solution to this is to have a content management system (CMS). A content management system is a set of software which enables you to manipulate and edit the content of your website as and when required. A content management system has several features. Some of the features of a Content Management System are web based publishing, revision control, format management etc. The web based publishing feature of CMS allows anyone to change and edit the content of a website as per requirements by using templates.

In layman terms, a template is a base or outline for making something. Joomla templates are based on Joomla which is an open source content management system. Joomla 2.5 is a new version of Joomla and has several features like multidatabase support, easy management of updates and better search facilities. Joomla templates and Joomla 2.5 templates are meant for Joomla powered websites. Joomla templates and Joomla 2.5 templates are popular templates for designing websites. They allow easy customization and come in different patterns and layouts. They are available in myriad forms and layouts. One can choose a Joomla template depending on the website’s requirements.

Each organization is different; a single type of website does not suit every business and different websites require different CMSs. For an enterprise, that has a global market, switching over to a CMS can be problematic. Also, if the website contains various forms of electronic data like text documents, videos, flowcharts, graphics and audio a more sophisticated and powerful CMS would be required.
